Inaugurated
by the first Prime Minister of India, Pt.
Jawaharlal Nehru in 1954, the Indian
Institute of Public Administration is in the forefront of capacity
building for good governance and civil society. Established as the premier
institute for promoting and providing for the study of Public Administration,
strengthening Policy Making, and for service delivery.
The main aim
of the Founding Fathers of the Institute was that the organisation should
not only stimulate a proper study of public administration but also train
directly a number of persons in the discipline, art and practice of administration
in the country.
IIPA has undertaken a multi phased innovative process to identify issues confronting design of rural e-governance initiatives. The outcome of this four phased process shall be a Citizen Centric Rural e-Governance framework that would assure a more sustainable uptake of a rural ICT initiative for governance in developing country link India.
The Indian Institute of
Public Administration is located in the heart of Delhi, at Indraprastha
Estate, opposite Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, spread over an area of 7
acres of land.
